Binary opposition

Watch this clip from BBC Question Time with Russell Brand and Nigel Farage. The BBC deliberately placed the two against each other and the episode resulted in far more people watching and tweeting than usual.

1) What examples of binary opposition can you suggest from watching this clip?

Through the cover of the video, the instances of binary opposition were evident as the BBC deliberately put the two distinct characters, resulting in wider media coverage. It was used in the clip because of their completely distinct ideas that created tension, so it permitted far more individuals to watch the clip than normal as they used the media technique-binary resistance.

The dominant ideology in this clip was the ongoing arguments about the economic crash that took over the UK. The ideologies shown in this video are the UK's financial problems. Nigel Farage thinks immigration is the reason for overpopulation that has become, over the past year or so, the dominant ideology.
