Everyday Sexism

Case study: Everyday Sexism
Watch this TEDx talk by Everyday Sexism founder Laura Bates:

1) Why did Laura Bates start the Everyday Sexism project?
Laura Bates started an Everyday sexism project in order to raise awareness that females are as equal as males and men are not any better. She has created this movement as she is speaking from personal experience and that she is portrayed as weak due to the gender she is whereby she is more inferior than what the stereotypes say. 2) How does the Everyday Sexism project link to the concept of post-feminism? Is feminism still required in western societies?
Eventhough there are movements to reassure that females should be treated equally, there are still certain individuals that disregard the movements and start creating more hate towards females. I believe that feminism should be required in western societies as it may help reinforce equality to those certain individuals that do not believe so
3) Why was new technology essential to the success of the Everyday Sexism project?

The use of technology is essential as it can get across a wider range of audience and spread awareness throught different social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram. This therefore shifts the audiences thoughts positively meaning it could possibly create an impact.

4) Will there be a point in the future when the Everyday Sexism project is not required? What is YOUR view on the future of feminism?
I believw that everyday sexism project should be required in the future as there will always be a small percentage of people that are either active meaning that are easily influenced by negative thoughts about females, so in 10 years time, the movement now will not be relevant.
