Editing blog task

In the first 10 seconds, there are many varieties of pace from being slow, which builds tension so we can identify ourselves with the characters
There is also a gradual build up of climax in the narrative as there are transitions from the middle shot to the male protagonist
In addition, 1 minute into the video, there is back to back camera positioning therefore the edits make it seem they are putting on their balaclavas's on at the same time even though they were shot at different angles. There is also continuity editing when the male protagonist punches a security guard and another shot follows through from it but from a lower angle
This is used by Michael Mann to introduce several editing techniques which makes the flow of the trailer more interesting.
Furthermore, there is a huge difference between the narrative of the movie and the setting of the movie since the the trailer is set in a bank which is mainly quiet and tranquil( peaceful and professional environment)-this is called juxtaposition editing.  Towards the end of the trailer, there is fast paced editing which includes montages of fight scenes between the robber's and the innocent victims.
There were many camera angles which asserted the dominance of the robber's to show that they have more power over the citizens. At the end of the trailer, there is parallel sound which links in with the slow paced editing after they attack the people in the bank and made them hostages, they started to rob the bank. The sound in the background was a typical soundtrack action movies would play to increase the tension and keep the audience 'on their feet'.
