The denotation of this advert shows a well known rapper, named 50 cent, portraying a serious facial expression. The type of shot is a medium close up shot showing 50 cent from his chest up to the top of his head. This may deliberately be done to attract the audiences attention on the chain and the earring to show wealth and superiority. This is backed up by the rappers facial expression showing seriousness which could deliver the message that seriousness leads to wealth and success. On the right of the image of 50 cent shows his fingerprints which suggests that he was involved in criminal activities before his fame. This image is overpowered by the quote from 50 cent which could mean that the negative past can be forgotten about and there is a chance of success. The picture is predominantly black and white and the lighting is very dull which could make us make the title more eye-catching. The lighting is based on the player and the connotation would be that is has been done to gain the audiences attention. This is done to shower the effect of the product so the audience can consider buying the product. The colour of the background is black and the player is wearing bright colours like red which could portray affection for the sport due to the shoes and linked to the effect of gaining the audiences attention. The type of shot is a very wide shot which emphasises the player with the environment suggesting that the sport brings light to the world and that the shoes help bring light.
The players pose is very unique which shows that he enjoys the sport which could be due to the fact that the shoes comfort his actions. The setting of this image is in a dark basketball court which could be done to emphasise that success comes from you being alone and working hard about your passion which all relates back to the shoes as it helps do all this.
