Who are you - People have constructed an image to communicate our identity
I think, therefore i am - our identity is based around aspects of our life (class, religion, gender)
The rise of the individual - individualism came about, based around what makes people comfortable
From citizen to consumer - Consumer goods were about creating and then satisfying desires
Branding and lifestyle - Branding is association of a 'personality' with a product


2) List five brands you are happy to be associated with and explain how they reflect your sense of identity.
Kukri - i usually wear that when i go gym 
Nike - im more of a 'tracksuit' person with suggests that im hardly participating in formal activities
Apple - Im more of a person that hops on the social trends rather than whats the best
Lynx -  i also use lynx that is popular rather than what deodrant smells the best
KA Drinks - i dont care about health but the taste
3) Do you agree with the view that modern media is all about 'style over substance'? What does this expression mean?
Media is produced to produce style over substance as people believe that better style gives better status over people with better substance

4) Explain Baudrillard's theory of 'media saturation' in one paragraph. You may need to research it online to find out more.
Baundrillad suggests that media has taken over reality and that people assume what real knowledge is portrayed by the media where in fact this is reproduced knowledge. Therefore audience live their lives through simulation of reality given by the media.

5) Is your presence on social media an accurate reflection of who you are? Have you ever added or removed a picture from a social media site purely because of what it says about the type of person you are?
I personally do not portray myself through social media but capture parts of my life that i find amusing and post it on apps like Snapchat. As i highlight

6) What is your opinion on 'data mining'? Are you happy for companies to sell you products based on your social media presence and online search terms? Is this an invasion of privacy?
i believe its an invasion of privacy as it goes through your history. Even though it is beneficial for people as it makes searching on the web easier, but consumers do not feel safe due to the fact that they know companies are going through what they search
